Shifting into OD
ok all
i just got the trans rebuilt and the converter gone thru. in fact the 2800 stall , i think, is now a bit looser. im guessing 3100...
anyway. i put my new tune in for the tbss intake and TB with the vette filter for the return\returnless conversion.
For some reson on the hwy, i cant get the truck to go into O.D. .. at something like 65 mph, im at 3000 RPM.
i can goose the throttle a bit, drop the speed down and it will eventually whack into O.D., but if i try to hold the throttle, it goes back up to 3k and i think slips down into 3rd gear.
so, im asking what ya'll think i need to get adjusted in the tune so i can tell Allen what to change. not having OD is getting really REALLY annoying, not to mention costing fuel...help

is the converter locking up?
-
gonna sound REAL dumb, but how do you tell that?
-
probably needs tuned for the converter and when it locks up
-
quick thats what i thought.
hey allen, can you help me out and update the tune .. i THINK my stall is now at 3100. .i didnt know it was gonna go up
-
They can't just re-stall themselves.
-
it was taken apart to make sure it wasnt dammaged and re brazed back together. its definately looser

I had the same problem when I put on the TBSS intake. No TCC lock up most of the time. Did some logging and was getting random multiple cylinder misfires. That code keeps the TCC from engaging. I could drive it and use the VCM controls to lock it up all I wanted.
I had to desensitize the misfire table slightly to get it to ever work right.

damn and travis has my HPT LOL

Pm me your details and I'll take a look at the tune. If the trans isn't going into 4th gear during normal driving that's not the tune. Now if what Ur describing is the converter not locking then that's fixable if everything is mechanically correct. Btw did u notice a flashing ses light?
