Colder plugs?
Pulled a plug from my #1 cylinder because I think Im getting some detonation. The ceramic seems to be the right color except for the front side (open end of the electrode) there is a slightly darker coloration. Got some white sparkle all over the ceramic too. Blue line is right on top of the meeting point where the strap meets the thread housing. Am I in trouble and would some colder plugs remedy my situation? Ive got a 93 tune, but the gas has been so crappy this winter that I was pinging every so often, no matter where I bought it. The motor ran great when I would run some BG 44k through the system, but once the tank is empty it goes right back to light pinging and a bit underpowered

Got recommendations on colder plugs for an NA 4.8? I know everyone likes those NGK's for FI, but Im not there at the moment. Gonna be NA for a while longer

what are you running now?

Just get some TR6's. Hopefully someone else will chime in on what gap you should run...

Being NA, 0.040" should work pretty well. Although for FI 0.030" works great for me

Aren't tr6's too cold tho? I guess if the gap was tight then they would work. Am I on the right track?
