I've been having transmission problems recently. Shifts from 1-2 fine then shifts back to 1 and won't shift until 5k rpms. While cruising at 65 the converter will lock then unlock then when u gas it a little more it will lock back up then unlock and stay unlocked unless I come to a complete stop. I got to thinking and changes the TPS and now it works fine. Does this sound normal or should I be worried about the transmission taking a dump on me?
I've seen it happen on OLDER (obdI) stuff, the computer can't decide on throttle position/load/speed correctly and jumps gears trying to make itself happy. Haven't seen it on newer obdII stuff, but that's probably because it's easier to scan and see "tps" as a problem.
when i was messing with the tac mod. and 87mm tb the other day on my test run it did shift at odd times and held 1st gear way way to long (ie 18% 4500ish rpms before 1-2 shift) so i would say tps is a possibility
is possible.....sometimes the TPS will drop Voltage....this will read like you release the throttle and that will unlock Converter...saw it life in a truck with the HPtuner scanner.....weird thing that it was not noticeable while driving.
What was major problem was AFR dropping time to time, bcause it went out of PE mode !!!!!
Well since I changed the TPS I haven't had the problem come back so I guess it fixed it.

We changed it and AFR were right on target !
You will be accelerating but TPS will stuck in 0% then tap a few times the throttle and will respond. Annoying for saying the least !
I guess depends on the TPS damage !
Well I'm not lucky enough to have hptuners so I was just guessing and changed the TPS and I'm glad that fixed it bc I don't have the money for a new tranny or stall
what trans? what vehicle is the pcm out of ? what size rear tires? was it tuned?
if tire height is incorrect to the pcm tuning then youll have issues as described
