I have a TR224 .563 lift cam. I am about to install some new 918 springs. Assuming my install height is 1.8, should I shim? Comp Cams told me not to shim. Others have said shim .030
Any help is appreciated

shimming hurts heat exchange from the valve springs to the heads, so unless its necessary its not recommended
Really? That GD HKE shimmed mine. 030".
to my knowledge shims are used to ensure that the valve spring has the proper load at installed height. Some may need them some may not.
