Anyone think this would be a good combo?
Was thinking of doing it with a set of 918 springs & forged rods :jump:

IMO - no need for forged rods unless you're gonna see some serious power. Even then, I'd have to think about it. Stock powdered metal kickass. It's a very pure cast, read up on it.
Get some ARP bolts in there, peep the bearings if the motor is used (Plastigauge is your friend), and run it.
Stall's based on vehicle weight, input torque, etc. Can't tell ya unless we know what it's in...

2500-2700rpm probably it'll stall to. I've heard lots of mixed stuff about it so don't expect much. It's still just a factory converter.
For the money, the TCI SF3000 is a better deal. 10", 3000 stall, anti balloon plates, etc.
That cam will die around 6400rpm in a 6.0, stock rods are more than fine with ARP bolts unless you need to tell people ya have Oliver billets in there :laugh:
Popular consensus is ARP rod bolts are a must. The only way I would get the trailblazer converter is if GM was going to warranty it. They won't if it's not in a trailblazer.
can u guys reccomend a good tc between around 2500 ? i dont really want somthing as high as a 3000
what about a yank 2600?
Have you driven or owned a vehicle with a stall? 2600 is pretty mild for the money...
yeah thats the thing, i have never driven a vehical with a stall, and i want this to be my daily driver... so i dont want to sacrafice a whole lot of drivability.... i figured 2600 was mild enough to let the cam work properly... and not high enough to be weird feeling off the line.Quote:

Stall is wonderful. IMO - 2600 is pretty mild, it's just not that much. You'll get it in there and wish why you didn't go for more. I drove a 4400lbs car with a 9.5" PI stall for a long time, after about a day I was used to it.Quote:

The truck in question, RCSB, is it 2x4 or what? TCI has a nice 3000 stall for the Gen III motors for cheap. Built well and all even has a front antiballoon plate.

so a 3000 stall, and that cam.... would it be good for a daily driver? or would it feel too weird to drive?
