ms3 cam to tr224 cam
Right now iam currently running an 06 silverado ss lq9 with an ms3 cam from tsp. I mostly do in town driving and i was wondering if i were to switch to a tr224 cam if ya think my mileage with this cam would improve been running the ms3 cam for a while about 15,000 miles and i love the way it sounds but its starting to get to me mileage wise get about 10.5 in town and priemem is currently 3.50 a gallon and only going up. Just wondering what ya think any info. will help....ps the reason i say a tr224 cam because it is being givin to me my friend bought it new and never used it. Thanks.

Well all things considered my stock 06 SS gets 15 mpg. You would really be splitting the difference or so. So you may get up to 12ish. Who is doing your tune? You could try leaning it out a little bit for around the town driving at part throttle if it is running any kind of rich... Also if you are running a large stall to couple with the ms3 you could probably lower your stall speed which would help your mileage for around town....

Thanks bro my stall is all ready kinda small a 2200 and the maybe i could it leaned out but iam pretty sure its already kinda lean cuz my tuner rick said my injectors are almost maxed when he just tuned the cam. It was tuned by rick from unlimited perfromace out of kingsville, texas but but iam sure not too many people have heard of him u proly need to be from around the area to know of him...maybe a set of headers will help lol..still running stock manifolds

Yeah that stall was really small for a ms3. I wouldnt of run below a 3600 with that large of a cam. And just cause they are almost maxed out at wot doesnt mean around town and part throttle is leaner. Headers can help. Part of it is accepting a SSS just sucks at gas mileage lol.

thats a large cam to run without any of the supporting bolt on's. the 224 would definately suite you better.
