What shift kit?
Wondering what to add to my recently rebuilt 4L80e? What shift kit? Servo etc. Its been built with upgraded cluthes and has a jr pressure release valve. But would like some firmer shifts and I tow with it as well etc. Any suggestions would be great! Manufacture etc. Thanks guys.

Not sure if I'd recommend a shift kit or not. I built mine up a few years ago and it's still going strong behind some really severe beatings with a very loose 3600 stall, 200+ shots of nitrous and now a turbo. The one mod I like the most is replacing the PWM shift pressure solenoid with the vacuum mod kit from transgo along with the vacuum bypass, again from Transgo. Electronics are doomed to fail be it electrical or tune related. I've beat and banged on mine and it's still as strong as an OX. I've made a few little improvements but nothing too major. The trans was originally a 2002 unit. Look for transmission related posts I started, one of them has all the details of what I did when I freshened this one up.

I kinda disagree with RedHearbeat (No Offense). The factory style electronics are fine. Just depends on application as to whether you want to keep them are not. However, to make a good recommendation we need to know more about you mods and how much weight you plan on towing. Corvette servo will firm up shifts a little but not sure on using it on a tow rig.

Disagree with me if you feel you must but I want to know how the hell you figure he is going to put a corvette servo in an 80e trans.

Sorry, I missed 80e. Now I feel stupid!

Sorry but mostly stock truck and engine. Will be gettind a tune from Nelson but want to know if I should do the kit first? CAI/Exhaust and future headers maybe cam etc. Tow about 5000-7000lbs mostly summer and weekend camping etc. Otherwise its a DD. To work and Riding etc. Any thoughts? Thanks again guys!

I just installed the transgo HD2 kit. I wont be able to install my built 6.0 for 2 weeks yet, so i dont know how it will react behind more HP. It's not a project for a novice, but the results are worthwhile. Shifts are much faster. Can't wait to put some power in front of it.
