my 99 z71 has stock suspension and 33"s without any rubbing. well i should say 32.5" its a 285/75/16 tire. but i bet i could fit a true 33" tire without rubbing. but to play it safe the most you will need is a leveling kit at the most. new torsion keys will give you the extra lift needed. to me body lifts look like crap. new torsion keys will be the easiest way to lift IMHO. heres a link to some leveling kits.http://roughcountry.com/chevy_4wd_99...eling_kit.html
i would go for the full leveling kit for $190
+1 on the torsion keys/leveling>body lift
I like body lifts personally. I have one (though I did do it after the suspension).
Problem with a leveling kit...is 6 days later you'll wish you went larger. A 3" body lift is a nice difference, and when you get bored, you can throw on the 6" suspension.
If you only want 33's, I'd turn the stock torsion keys the 1/2 turn you'll need to clear, trim a 1/4" off the lower valance and call it a day.
you dont need a lift to clear those tires, just adjust the stock torsion bars. thats what i did and didnt trim anything. no rubbing under any circumstances. 99 2500 non hd
Then you have the wrong offset wheels.
