2000 Chevrolet 2500 6.0L Started missing bad, code reads misfire cyl 7, so i changed the plug, still missing and gets around 3 MPG. I start my truck and minutes later the whole neighborhood can smell gas. Codes also read oxygen sensors and possible ignition failure. WHICH IS IT???
MISSION COMPLETE THE COIL WAS THE CULPRIT!!!!

I hope you don't have cats still.
If you are actually driving it still, you are killing the cats and 02's.
Work backwards. Check the spark at the plug end, wire end, coil end, etc.....
And if it smells of gas that bad, i would do an oil change. Dumping all that raw fuel into the engine.
I'm still going to bet o2s. The o2s are probably bad, feeding it lean signal, lean is dumping fuel into motor, causing a fuel misfire.
And it's say possible ignition failure just because of all the misfires from being pig rich.
And all the fouled ass plugs.
im putting my money on a bad injector on #7 (staying open) or "mouse bitten" injector wiring causing injector to ground out all the time

this is exactly where I would start the injector is where the problem must be. You already know which cylinder so disconnect the injector plug and see what happens. then key it up and wait to see if the fuel pressure falls after you shut the key off if so the injector pintel itself could be stuck open, I have seen this occur when the screen in the top of the injector is damaged, allowing little particles to get between the pintle and its seat.. one thing to remember if you are dumping that much fuel into 7 cyl. you could possibly hydraulic the cyl. and bend a rod so be careful running it too much,Quote:
