I need some serious help here :bawl: . I just jot done installing my TOG Headers last Fri Night and having some problems now. After the install I removed my rear 02 sensors and my stock y-pipe in order to drive it to the shop the next day. IN the front the put the front O2's back it the headers and drove it staight headers for a few miles the same night and the next day to the shop. While doing this the service engine light came on also. At the shop they had to weld directly to the headers the front 02's in to get the y-pipe to fit right to the opening on them They also put the rear 02 senors back in. So now after all the my truck is throwing these codes off. The truck is missing during idle and driving around town along with that it is back firling a little. Power now is very stick very little power at throttle. By welding on the headers or driving with open headers with front 02's in are the front 02' gone or the rear ones. I have check my plug wires like 5 times to check the connection which seem to be on good. If anyone could help me here I would be grateful to them :worship: .

Normally when you install headers you are going to have to richen the fuel trims(PCM,injectors)/install larger jets(carb) to offset the free flowing exhaust. The PCM can offset itself a bit but it runs out of compensation eventually if you have installed headers and a cold air induction. If you have done both of those without getting your PCM recalibrated you are just asking for SES codes. Break out the pocket book and get a tune from Allen to enhance your truck and really make your mods work even better for you.

I agree, Allen told me when I get headers he has add more fuel in because of the midrange torque they create. You have to remember the stock computer is calibrated (well I guess what GM calls calibration) for its stock intake, exhaust. etc. When you change enough of its parts it will throw codes, and you will be replacing things that arent even broken trying to find the cause! Allen's tunes are definately worth it.

Yes I do have one of Allen's tunes in my truck right now. Before the install I called Allen and aked him will I be fine with my current tune he said yes. He said that he makes all his tunes a little rich to begin with and by adding headers I should be right on. I will also try giving Allen a call today and see and the tune again.

the stock pcm can and will compensate enough to be able to bring it around. it might end up showing a lean or rich code if it is way out of line. that usually only happens when the pcm reaches + or minus 25 on the ltrims.you know an exhaust leak can cause the problems that you are having. what exactly did they weld on the headers.

Good News After talking to someone with some more knowledge with engines and having a better scanner availbale to diagnose the problem more we found it. So checking the areas that would cause this problem we were lead the area of a Cracked area of porclean on the Spark Plug. So now I am ready to go.
