Cam Ideas?

I've been looking into cams lately and trying to figure out which one to get. I know i should just call a place like Thunder Racing or Comp Cams but just looking to see what some of you guys have and how you like them. I have an 04' crew cab silverado 5.3L i drive it everyday so dont want it to radical. And i pull a 16' v-nose trailer sometimes in the summer with dirtbike, quad, and gear in it. I have seen the TR cheaTR v.3 cam and that sounds pretty sweet and looks like it would make good power but if its not good for me i cant get it. I only have Banks cat back exhaust right now looking at CAI and tune for now. But would like to get a cam and then get it tuned later when I have the money. Let me know what you guys think and have experienced.

For a DD, I'd go with an LS6 cam or something like this with a 114* LSA

Just go with the tried and true Comp 212/218 low lift.

what kind of gains would I be looking at with that cam?

+1 on that cam..never used it but have heard nothing but good things about it. if you get too big of a cam youll need a higher stall tc. Bigger cams usually just move your powerband higher in the rpm range. i used an 02 ls6 cam in my stock 5.3 with stock tc and the bottom end torque was no where to be found. Iv used the tr220 and i loved it

How did your gas milage do with that? I would think that it would improve seeing that the truck has a little more power and doesn't have to work so hard. If you can stay out of the throttle.

Just curious guys, but why the low lift version of the comp cams 212/218? Wouldn't the high lift version perform better as long as he is willing to swap valve springs? Im thinking of running the high lift version in a 6.0 that sees some towing.
