I need to know if the silverado alternator will work with ls1 accessories. I'm doing a electric fan swap and need a bigger alternator(145amp). I haven't ordered it yet, just checking if it would work. Thanks in advanced. Anthony

well.....nobody replied so i guess you gotta keep the retarded looking truck front drive  hahah
If you can make it fit, it'll work. Think about it ... they all run off 12vdc, right? You'd need some way to control the fans, though. If this isn't answering your question, maybe I'm not understanding what you are asking.
run the part number for an alt of an LS1 based car, and your truck. See if alt is the same.
I'd think they were the same.
Do you plan to use truck mouting and just LS1 motor? If so, it should.
No there not the same, the SRE housing and DE housing mounting is different for an f-body car, the regulator plugs are the same and wiring is the same, but the regulators have different voltage setpoints and different LRC values, F-bodys use a Delco CS-130D, Where as the 99-04 trucks use the Delco AD244, and 05-up use DR44G alt completly computer control, I am an automotive elcetrical rebuilder and build them everyday so if you have any questions about the starting or charging system, PM me Id be glad to help
BTW GM offered a 135amp on all the trucks the part stores should have it for a direct replacement
truck alt will indeed work with car accesories!!!! you just leave off the side bracket from the alt
Bringing this back. My buddy is looking for the dr44G to put in his 2004 silverado SS because he is doing efans. Are there any modifications needed to make it work i.e., correct number of pins, computer issues, bracket issues, etc.? Is K040378HD the belt part number needed?
