just wondering if anyone has had this behind their dash i am getting a clicking and a burbling sound behind the drivers side dash. anyone know what it could be? i don't think that it is the heater core or anything to do with the heater. it got louder when i pulled a 28' enclosed trailer the pickup is a 04 silverado with the 5.3 z71
A friend of mine's Tahoe does the same thing and found out it was a blend door.
How funny that someone else is hearing that same thing, ha. I did find that my blend door does make its own sounds, the sound coming from the driver side of my dash is different than the blend door on the pass. side.
I hear mine worse when I'm driving the kids to school in the AM, I guess 'cause I have the stereo down while we're talking/riding. I hear it worse while sitting still at a light or in line at the school & it's annoying as hell. Needless to say, I haven't found out what it is, or pinpointed it quite yet. At first I thought it may've been a broken clip/alignment pin on the back of the dash bezel, since I've had mine apart more times than I care to count. Yet it still doesn't explain the gurgling that comes with it.
Any & all other times, I have the stereo cranked or the windows down, so I don't hear it then, ha. Then again, that's about how I take care of all my interior noises in mine. BTW, it's a 99 ECSB w/the 5.3 also. Any input would be nice, as well as a solution to alleviate it.
Also, my Delphi replacement alternator is loud as hell too. Kinda sounds like the baseball cards in the spokes of a BMX bike. When the cab is quiet, like in the AM, you can hear it inside & I thought that's what I was hearing at first. Just recently did I decipher the other sound behind the dash as a seperate sound, ha. Stupid ears! They're too good, ha. Just crank up the tunes, ha.
i wonder if the noise you are talking about is coming the stepper motors, (the gauges themselves.)
well i narrowed it down to the blend motor just have to get at it now only reason i narrowed it down to that is because if i change the output on the control it stops it only does it when its on the windsheild and feet so sometime this week i can get at it
In my 08, I have a tick coming from the right hand, drivers side vent. It only does it with the AC on high. Very similar situation, probably the same issue. I'm just too lazy to care.Quote:
