LQ4 into 82 gmc
Hey guys, quick questions, I currently bought an Lq4 engine from the salvage yard for this truck, decided to go carb, already installed the edelbrock intake and module kit sold by edelbrock, installed edl-2216 cam recommended for carb applications, its not to big i think but dont know how it will run yet, advertised at .230/.237 .541/.541 with 110 lsa and using some 26918 springs. Curious to see how it performs, running 770 street avenger, keeping manifolds for now, and swapping my th350 for a 700r4 with a b&m lockup kit, bought some hooker ls1 swap adapter plates but motor isnt in yet, has anyone used these for this app. or do most people use the dirty dingo mounts, looked at s&p but the kit isnt cheap, just wanting to have strong and nice daily driver. Here are some pics of the engine and some before pics of the truck, just got it painted, i lowered it 4 inches and threw some drag lites, and also the 89 gmc suburban front grill.

Nice truck, mostly everybody here stayed fuel injected. I used these: http://carshop.carshopinc.com/produc...id/74328/LS1GM
I have also heard you can use the f-body headers.

Thanks man, yeah i really had it my mind to go F.I., but last minute changes made me go carbed, the swap was a success, it is now a cammed lq4 with a holley 770 street avenger backed up by a 700r4, I got all my factory gauges to work with the swap, but i did install a 2004 3/4 ton heavy duty radiator backed by gm 05 truck fans, used hooker adapter plates and everything bolted in exactly where my old small block did, trans fit in the same location, and even my driveshaft. So i'm happy, this things sounds pretty rowdy, and runs good, dying to run it @ the track. Will keep yall posted, thanks.
