Ive got f-bodys on mine right now but i was wondering if some vette manifolds would fit in my 89 2wd chevy? I guess im concerned that they will hit the crossmember.

thanks they look like they probably flow better than the 02 f-body ones im going to be buying but im not sure if they will fit. Mist also try to get some ls2 versions
also...i was reading over on ls1tech that some people are using g-body headers from S&P on their obs trucks with ls1s..you check into that yet?
Crossmember would be in the way most likely. I used the truck manifolds successfully. Salvage yards and Ebay are full of them. I would go with at least a set of shorty Edelbrocks instead if I had it to do all over again, they are cheap. I will be buying a set of Street and Performance G-body headers if I decide to put headers on in the near future since they are just over $500.
ive heard the 01-02 f-body manifolds flow as well if not better than any shorty header out there.Quote:

Theres been alot of controversy about this, I dont think the increse of less than five horses for switchin F-body manifolds to shorties is worth $500 bucks. Thats over half the price of LT's. GM high tech magazine said go long or go home, I think Ill go home for now. IMO, but if you got the cash then get 'er done.
yea the only way to my knowledge that I can go with long tubes is if I custom make my own and I dont have the time or the money for that right now. The build your own kits a still pretty pricey!!Quote:

I compared pics of the f-body ones on my truck to the c-5s and im pretty sure they will either hit the crossmember or the back a-arm mount on the frame.
Ive got a couple non egr/air 01-02 f-body and a set of 04 gto manifolds im going to try to get cheap. Then just sandblast them..coat them and install them until I start doing my cam swap and other mods.
i forgot about the S&P mid lengths they make for a swap. hmmmmmm. if anything id go with some ls7 manifolds as they'd be able to flow up to 500hp out of the box with no holding back. the ls2's put out about 350/350 and they tend to swap headers after that...although i havent researched it all that much
