Are there any adjustments you can do on an alignment without removing the knockouts.
I had a shop do an alignment 1 year ago that did not remove the knockouts.When I had an alignment done today they had to remove the knockouts(no charge from a buddy). Did I get F#$!&D by shop number 1. And do I need to make a visit to him tomorrow.

The "knockouts" are just a plastic piece that can be put back in sometimes on NBS. The true knockouts were on OBS. It used to be an extra charge to take the knockouts out the first time on OBS trucks, but a lot of shops still charge people that fee on newer trucks even though it only takes a flick of the wrist with a screwdriver.
Instead of bitching out shop #1, you should have a talk with your buddy for pretending like he was doing you some big favor and bad mouthing the other shop.
And yes, if your caster and camber were in spec, there would be no reason for them to even mess with the adjusters in the first place.
Why did you have an alignment done in the first place? Did you replace some components or was there some sort of problem?
First of all my "buddy" didn't bad mouth the other shop. He doesn't roll that way.He always takes care of our rides like they were his.And yes he did do me a big favor by doing the alignment the right way. I had to replace the front tires after 10,000 miles after shop #1s work.And no I didn't rotate the tires.My bad. I always get an alignment after new tires.Cheap insurance in my opinion especially when tires run $800.00 a set and an alignment is $50-$70.The second set went 2500 miles before I could get the Tahoe in. The damage was already done and the front tires had to be replaced. You can see why I would be hacked off at myself and the other shop.Quote:
