1996 GMC V6 to V8

Hi Guys! I got a 1996 GMC 1/2 ton with a 4.6 /5speed stick that I want to put a 350 motor with a roller cam and vortec heads in to it that I have sitting in my garage right now. I guess I need to know how much stuff off the orginal 4.6 I can reuse, such as the serptine belt system with A/C, the stock 5 speed with the bellhousing, starter motor, wiring harness with the 4.6 computer, the frame mounts for the 350 motor mounts, the F.I. throttle body, etc. etc. etc. ? I sure hope there are good words of wisdom out there for this year and this motor and trans combo. Thanks Guys.:hyper2:

First off it should have been a 4.3L not 4.6L in the 1996 truck.

Second sell that SBC and get yourself a LS motor to drop in...

Since this site is LS1truck, you would find more info for that year engine at a broader site like FSC, GMFS, 47-72 etc.

OOOp'S sorry you are right, it is a 4.3L
