This pretty much explains it all. What do i do now? This is getting pretty old.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, I guess this means you still had the vibrations problem? Do they make an aluminum shaft for our trucks? I hope you get this figured out pretty soon because I would like to learn from your mistakes.
Sorry to hear about that. Allen what are you planning on now? 1" wall steel or solid shaft or detuning motor to 4 banger or remove lead for shoe.j/k. Man I hate that for you. Your truck is reg. cab. You are scaring me with as long as my drive tran is. Good luck keep us informed.
WTF are you doing to snap drive shafts? That LS1 isnt putting that much torque to the ground! I see Durmaxes launches hard and they dont have any problem. And they are probably pushing 600 ft/lbs+ on launch. You need to look in to a HD aluminum drive shaft.
it doesnt.. but lets recap.. he has a built tranny (they engauge quicker/harder), stickier tires and its 4000+ lbs over the 3500 of the camaro. Also, he can't aluminum, I believe the place said they dont feel safe making one the length he needs.
IMO the drive shaft is too long for the gear ratio. Need different gears or two pice drive shaft. The kill keeps happening at highway speed so I doubt too much torque, that would kill at launch. Biger diameter driveshaft should also work. I'm determined as much as Allen to find the fix this time!!
What is to long? My extended bab is a one piece. And all trucks 01 and newer come with a one piece shaft. He has a short bed right?
I'm so ruined now, everytime i drive my truck i'm just waiting for that shaft to explode. I rarely get on it any more cuase of this.
I know i'm not putting more than 400ft/lbs down, plus most f-body's are making more than i am, so i'm sure the shaft is strong enuff, something else is going on.
I've heard about the harmonics and frequency of a shaft, and the critical speed thing. My vibration was there around 80mph but cleared out at 100mph. kind of wierd.
Denny'sDriveshaft told me with the steep gears i have, that would cause some problems if i don't go with a big diamter shaft or a strong enuf one.
I just called drive shafts unlimited and they are going to replace it, i'll keep using theirs until i can buy the $500 dollar one from denny's., plus it takes like 6weeks to get it in. I'll just go very slow and drive the motorcylce as much as i can. I'll probably end up going with their 4" diameter, they said that wolud help.
I guess it's time to install a shaft loop this time, hehahaha. it scars the sh!t out of me when it breaks, i don't know what kind of damage it did, i'll look tonight.
Anymore thoughts on the shaft thing? I really want to find out what's going on.

Ya, i have a short bed, that's why it kind of seems wrong that someone would say mine is too long. it's like 61" and yours i think is like 80something.Quote:
