Fuel Cell options...

Hiya guys. I've been considering exchanging my driver's side mounted fuel tank for a rear centrally mounted fuel cell to move weight to the rear and equalize my weight distribution. My suspension on the driver's side ride about 1.5'' lower than the passenger's side. Maybe the previous driver was a big guy but 200lbs extra weight on one side plus the driver tends to throw the balance off a bit. Anyways, i have a belltech 2/4 drop kit that will be installed soon and should level out the suspension height.

On to the fuel cell. I know Jon at DB Rods builds a truly fine fuel cell for NBS trucks, but its a little out of my price range. I'm wondering if anyone has ever used something like a suburban fuel tank, or maybe a Poly Fuel Cell. I would like to keep this project fairly inexpensive but I know that's like wishing for snow in July.

I'll take any suggestions or comments on my states proposals.

from the reading I’ve done on the chevy angle of the dangle problem it can be solved by just adding a rear sway bar set up.

I'm sure that's true now that you mention it, and i may even go that route. But one of the main reasons I considered a rear mounted tank in the first place was so I could run my truck with a symmetrical exhaust system which will change the sound of it a bit but also give me a lot freer flowing system for my 370ci engine.
And on top of that, I'll add more weight to the rear, which will aid in achieving a healthy amount of traction. Because right now I don't get very much traction unless I'm rolling in a straight line.

So basically, I'm going to use the rear fuel cell, I just wanted to see how many ways there are to go about it, hell I even have a Coors' Keg in the back yard I could use.

Your link didn't post, but I've seen quite a few rear mount fuel cell setups. I really wanna go with the poly cell setup for low cost, and the cell i found is the perfect size, the only difference is I must build a custom 10'' tall sending unit. to fit in the cell

having a fuel cell in the back of the truck is not gonna help your traction issues, unless you run with a full tank of gas ;)
