LS 5.3/4L60E into my 93 SCSB.

Hey guys, yesterday I picked up a 2002 5.3L V8 w/ 4L60E still attached. It is from a truck. It has everything including fuel lines all the way to the fuel tank, MAF, trans cooler lines, cruise control, fuse block, PCM and is even sitting on the original y-pipe, lol.

Anyways. It is going into my 1993 Chevy. Original motor was a 4.3L, now a carb'd 355. I did that swap myself so I know what still is and isnt in the harness. The truck has no wiring for an automatic transmission. It appears to have been an original 3 speed truck (had a 1990 454SS trans)(how in 1993, Idk, but lets not discuss that mess).

Heat and AC is not an issue. Will probably delete both as I have a 2005 Silverado to be comfy in.

Also, I put a 1995+ interior in my truck so I have that style gauge cluster. Doesn't make a difference in wiring but figured Id throw that in there. HOWEVER, I wonder if I could now make the trans gear lighting work in the guage cluster? I know the 95+ cluster have that individual LED for each gear. Can this be made to work with the new 4L60E?

I see that Walbro fuel pumps are common to use. My buddy bought a Walbro 255 for his 96 Z28. Still new in the box and he needs the money. Can I use it? Idk if there are different 255s for different vehicles.

Where will my fuel pump now get power from?

My harness is complete to the fuse block. I plan on just installing the fuse block and powering it up. That makes more sense to me than making my own smaller, neater, power block. This truck is my baby but its no show ride.

Fuel level. Simply needs to be attached to the fuel sender. Easy.
Voltmeter. Not sure where this gets its signal.
Speedo. From VSS? Or DRAC box? My truck has the little white box by the original PCM. I saw some writing on this somewhere.
Tach? Just needs a one wire hook up to the LS harness right? Where is that at?
Oil pressure. Can I tap into the harness somewhere or should I just install a diff sensor?
Water temp. Appears to be on the front of the driver side head on the LS. I guess all I need to do is just screw my one wire temp sensor into this spot and keep my wiring?

I'm also assuming I should just keep my original PCM in the truck and powered up?

I saw note of these plugs C101, C103, etc that have necessary wires for controlling vital functions. I understand how to hook all this up but I don't know which plug these are.

So I've been taking notes all day in my notebook.

Gauges are covered. No questions there.

Fuel pump. Got a couple part #s wrote down here. No problems.

And it dawned on me that those wires needed to go inside the cab are leading from the PCM, correct? I just need to cut them loose and extend them from the PCM to locations listed?

Questions...

Red 17: AC Request - Im not running AC so I imagine this is of no concern to me
Red 30: Fuel enable control - What does this hook to?
Red 42: TCC Solenoid Valve Control - What does this go to?
Red 50: Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal - To my DRAC box behind the glove box, right?

I'm considering simply putting the '02 fuse block in my truck. I noticed it has multiple studs on it for hooking up power/ground. Where/how do I hook up 'ignition/run' power? I know where to get those from on my truck of course, I'm just not sure how/where they connect on the LS harness to make it function correctly.

ignition power goes to a pink wire on the that black connecotr with like 12 or so wires on it, next to the blue one. And also on the underhood fuse block that link shows where it needs to go.

Water temp most use an adapter and put your guage sedning unit on back pass. side of head. there is a plug there.

I think on the a/c request you can have your programmer turn that on for a fan control wire if you run electric fans.

Hey. Nah all it may get are the conversion long tube headers...just to make getting exhaust put on easier. That and the computer tune will be it. And whatever kind of intake I put together for it.

Thanks. I sat at the computer for about 8 hours yesterday, visited 4 or 5 websites and took 4 pages of notes. I think I have just about all my answeres covered. Looking forward to doing the swap.

I'm in the middle of mine now on a 89 suburban. Any ? let me know. But going off lt1swap info is dead on so far. My fuel pump fires off the ls puter so far, and starter turns over too. I need to sort out my exhaust then try to start it.
