Silverado is gone
Well last night coming home from the local car hang out Im driving down the high way with a F150 infront of me and then all of a sudden I see him turn off the exit real fast almost as if he almost missed the exit then I look back straight and see 2 head lights right infront of me. A 29 year old drunk driver decided to get on interstate 384 here in CT going the opposite direction I swerved to miss him and he kind of swerved into me and needless to say we hit head on. He was so drunk he couldnt hold his hands up when the cops asked him then they had to cut him out of the car. I was totally fine only a little red mark on my fore arm which im not really sure where that came from the trucks totaled but all the cops and fire men said If I werent in a truck Id be dead. So Long live the Chevy Silverado! Now the hunt starts for another one. Another bad part is I have a new nelson tune coming tomorrow along with a new stock throttle body im going to have ported and now I have nothing to put them on. My brand new headers are bent my CAI is destroyed and my custom exhaust is smashed I was able to save my Pioneer DVD head unit my sub and amp but left all the wiring which isnt really a big deal. It made me feel a little better that the aftermarket stuff I put on were all damaged that way they werent just sitting there in perfect condition. Sorry for the long post just had to get that out of my system. Hopefully insurance gives me a decent amount for the truck so I can get another one ASAP and start over!

Ya im hoping the samething now I just have to start looking at a new truck. I think Im going to try to find either an SSS or try to find one that is somewhat already built. I found this one online and its actually about 30 miles from me and from the description it sounds like its got some pretty sweet stuff in it. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...pe=b&make=CHEV

haha ahhh oh well looks like I have to keep looking. Ive gotta wait for insurance anyways so its good someone jumped on it. I really wanna try to find an SS with lower miles and in good condition. I was tossing around the idea of getting a dodge diesel but I just cant get myself to step away from a Silverado. That Silverado was the best truck I ever owned so theres no way I can get anything but another silverado!

wow just wow, glad your still in the land of the living

the cummins is fun but you wont like the truck around it. How bad are the headers bent?
congrats on surviving death btw

From what I could see the headers were pretty bad. Even if they werent to bad though it would be more of a pain than anything to get them out. I think the drivers side might be ok but its to mangled under there to really get at them. Im going to try to get some money back through insurance for some of my aftermarket stuff, I still have the receipts for everything so hopefully Ill get some of the money back Im hoping to find out in the next few days. Im just hoping I get a decent amount for the truck in general from insurance so I can pay off the loan and have a little bit left over to put down on another truck, the truck was an 04 ECSB LT fully loaded bose leather power everything so hopefully its still worth something and Ill get enough for it...Im crossing my fingers. Im hoping I come across a really good deal on either an SSS or another 5.3 with close to the same mods I had on mine so I dont have to start totally from scratch. But yes Im glad and lucky to be alive, I was really really bummed at first to see my truck like that because it was all my hard earned money into it and was a work in progress and its always cool to see your money transform something else into something cool but Im kinda getting over it now since theres really nothing I can do now.

Glad to hear you're ok. My old Silverado got taken out by a drunk, too. It really sucks to see your truck go out like that, but such is life.....
