The engine is broken in now and I would like to switch to a synthetic oil. I would like to use Amsoil but which one as they have several different ones? Also, which tranny and diff fluids do I need?
The engine is a built 6L block, the transmission is a built 4L60 and I have the 9.5"(14 bolt) differential.
Want to do this before this Saturday's track day.
everyone in my family besides me uses amsoil...they all have to add oil periodically. Brother burned through 4 qts in about 3500 miles. I filled it back up with mobil 0-30 cuz that's what I keep on the shelf, and he hasn't lost a drop in 2500.
I'm not saying it's not good oil, but I won't run it. I wasn't really pleased with royal purple either. Mobil seems to work great.
I use Mobil 1.
castrol syntec 0w30 here no issues
I will be going with Mobile 1 for now because I need it done today so I can go racing tomorrow.
