I'm picking up a lq4 this friday, going to call texas speed and order a cam and tune.
my truck runs the 1/8 at 8.8 now with a 1.82 60'. its a RCSB 5.3 sierra, LTH,3500 stall 4:11, tru trac,cai, built trans. it just flat out falls on its face with the stall. How much time should i pick up with the 6l? I'm going to run a very agressive cam..

Id go with Nelson, I havent heard anything bad about him with the research Ive done.
You can get the cam and tune through Nelson Performance.
Why not just get them to tune, NOTHING beats a dyno tune, and when it comes down to it there are only TWO kinds of tunes, good ones, and bad ones. Texas speed isnt gonna give you a bad tune and neither is nelson.Quote:

I would recommend the Texas-Speed.com Torquer V.3 or the Tsunami if you're planning on going big cam. Don't get caught up in all that mail order vs. dyno mumbo jumbo. Texas-Speed.com mail order tunes are build around the results of 1,000's of dyno tunes. I believe Texas-Speed.com doesn't lock their tune like the competition. That way should you decide to personally tune it or spend more $'s to have it retuned locally they can acess it for upgrades.
