What all is involved to swap an 08 ls2 into an 02 4.8? Is it direct? Or what problems could I run into?

the big one is going to be the reluctor. the ls2 is 58x, yours is 24x. this means you need to swap the entire computer, there may be an adapter or something on the market though...
U should be able 2 use ur 4.8 harness and ecu. but also do u have a complete takeout? e-fans? there are obviously a little more than just these things but need 2 know if its a complete takeout and i can answer a lil more...:chevy:
Well it's not going in mine. Someone I know is wanting to buy the ls2 tomorrow but I told him I didn't think it was a direct swap so I was wanting to double check
The engine He is buying is a block/crank/pistons/heads. Ext. No intake or accessories. And again it isn't going in my truck
I know about the fans and stuff that is simple stuff. And I know you can use the harness and PCM. I just didn't know if there were any major complications.Quote:

The Cam position sensor is on the front of the block and the wires will need to be changed... just swap A and C. The knock sensors will have to be relocated to the sides of the block.
