ls2 stroked to ls7 427?
I was reading up on a sandrail that had an LS2 and was stroked to an LS7? is this about right? just wondering becuz if so im going to be getting the rotating assembly for an ls7 and stroking my ls2? Can somebody confirm this for me, becuz then an lq4/9 could be turned into an ls7 with sum machine work and the rotating assembly...:burnrub:

the ls2 block has to be sleeved. and no a lq4/9 cant go that far there generally only good for .030-.040 over (408/410)

thx 408 luke..:thumb: that jus didnt make sense to me... would it be worth it tho to go with the lsx block from tsp and the ls7 rotating assembly and building an LS7 that way? or just look for a used ZO6 LS7 takeout?:thanks:

the cheapest used low mileage LS7 ive ever been able to find was around Houston for a complete ls7 out of a ZO6 with 30k for $7500 obo...:hail: about what do they usually run tho used?

you from houston? do NOT go to TSP go talk to erik at HK Enterprises hes around I-10 and belt 8 on the west side HK Enterprises - Specializing on American Late Model V8 engines they are always busy so either email him or show up at the shop, he wont be there till noon most days and dont be surprised if he emails you at 2am. Its the only place i trust with motor work in the area besides myself.

thx 408 luke i came across the site the other day and just havent had the time to look into there work.but after seeing a couple of the forums on here with ppl who have gone with HKE they seem to be better than going with than most of the places around the southwest.thx 4 ur time.. i really want to get an ls7 built block or at least even a shortblock from them about how much would u say they would charge 4something like that? im about 8hours away from Houston but i have family within 45mins from there in Conroe that drive up and back from Houston everyday..:thanks: 4 reading...

idk thats hard to say, really depends on the block, weather you go ls7 or sleeve a ls2 or go with a lsx. ls7 would probably be cheapest block because you dont have to machine the boars where the ls2 or lsx you do (and ls2 you would have to replace sleves) but then if you find a ls2 block for cheap enough it might be worth it to go thought route. the biggest question is how much power are you looking for? a 408 can make 550 decently easy if built right for a lot cheaper than a 427. If you want over 600 then 427 and id say 7-8k and that would be on the cheap side, never seen a bill for one so i really dont know

ironblock 6.0s have been made into 427s. its a 4.060 bore with a 4.1 crank
Ls2s are resleeved
LS3 block with a 4.1 crank can get you a 427 as well
