Guys, my rod bolts just came in this morning, bear with me as I don't know too much on bottom ends, But in the paperwork and torque specs it says I should have the rods re-sized, now I'm not exactly sure what this means so could someone shed some kight on this for me please and how I would go about doing it?
To resize the rods they take the rod cap off and machine a little metal off the mating surface of the rod cap and/or rod. Then when they put the cap back on the rod, the big end of the rod is too small. The machinist then bolts the cap back on the rod and hones the big end of the rod to the correct size again. When done correctly this leaves the big end of the rod perfectly round and exactly the correct diameter (resized).
I know its a bit to late but a company called katech sells a rod bolt that doesnt need resized....

Did you get the 8740 or 2000 bolts? I've never had any resized...just bolt them in.
