Iat relocation/maf delete for speed density

Well I have had a sd tune for a while now and love it. One of my Gto buddies is also sd tuned and he did a iat sensor relocation to get more accurate iat readings and maybe a lil more air. Well he swears by it saying that I need to do the same thing cause every lil bit helps right. I tried the trusty search button but had no luck so help me out. Can I buy the same wire kit he bought that plugs into your wire harness for your maf sensor and has a break off for a f-body iat sensor that you can pretty much mount anywhere. I will try to find a link for the break off harness but alot of guys use it on ls1gto forums, seems llke a common mod. :ugh2:

so let me get this straight, you want to buy a harness that plugs into a part you aren't even going to be using to you can "t" off for the IAT sensor. If it were me, i'd just cut the IAT wires and reroute on your own, just buy a sensor with the plug. Solder your connections and shrink wrap. Also, just shrink wrap the ends of the MAF wiring and tuck them back into the loom. As to where to put the sensor, i'm not experienced enough to tell you where.

Your vehicle was probably tuned for the current IAT location. I'm assuming you can get a sensor off most GMs where it is just a 2 wire, that plugs into the intake. Then use the 2 wires from your current MAF housing. (go to junk yard, take plug/sensor)

I would talk to the tuner tho.

Yeah I don't know what I was thinkin lol that harness is for just relocating the iat sensor when your still useing the maf. So that sounds like a better idea. Which ones are the iat wires. Thanks for the input

SHOULD be the black and brown wires. thats what we did on a 09 5.3 with a SC. its just your simple 2 wire IAT sensor and pigtail. it cost me like 28.00 shipped w insurance on the package.

im doing one right behind the TB where the old EGR port use to be.

on the plug, its the outer two, (believe on passenger side) can't remember colors off top of my head
