ths weekend when i was driving and i happened to look down at my guages and noticed that my oil guage was at 80 im not sure if something is wrong with my guage or my engine and when im idling its in the middle of 40 and 80 normal its right below 40 at idle
when you noticed it at 80 where were you at in the rpm range, or were you at WOT? idling should be around 40 tad over or below, seems like youre fine
mine idles just a hair over 40, and anything over about 2800 rpm mine is at 80
What weight oil are you running in your engine and what were the ambient temperatures?
How long since last oil change?
im due for an oil change and at idle it goes to between 40 and 80 it use to idle at 40 or alittle over i run 10w 30 so im not sure is the sensor is messed up or what
I have seen some odd issues with oil pressure and miss fires before from not changing the oil. I would recommend to go ahead and change it and see if it help before you start replacing parts. Always cheaper to perform maintenance first that needs to be done anyways. I would recommend 5W-30 in a good brand of oil.
