Just another Newbie..
Hello everyone.. Just checking in, and introducing myself. I'm David, but Nuvey is my regular nickname online.. Started out as my real nickname as a kid.. I got it when my dad was WAY too drunk, and forgot my real name, and Nuvey was the first thing that popped into his head.. It stuck.. lol.. I was 7yrs old when I got it, and I'm 28yrs old now. I don't mind too much
I'm former Active Duty Navy, was stationed on the Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), from July 01 - May 2005.. I got out and joined the Utah Army Guard in April 06.. I work full time on National Guard trucks both Wheeled and Tracks. I love my job, just don't like waking up at 5am to be there..
I've been registered on LS1Tech for a few months or more, since I got my 2000 T/A. I've always had respect for the LSx line of motors, but didn't truely understand how great they were till I owned one. Now I'm planning a LQ4 swap into my 1993 GMC K1500 Stepside. It's got a stock motor in it with a bunch of aftermarker parts. Removed AC, Electric water pump/fans, 4inch lift.. Basics, but I get 17mpg with a Manual tranny, so it isn't all bad. But the motor went out, and I bought a new one, and it wasn't put together right, so I've decided that not only would it be better, but it'd be more fun to put a LS into it and see what kind of power and milage I can pull out of it. I've got pictures, but not entirely sure how to post them yet. But within the next few days I'll get a few pictures up of my truck.. My Trans Am is bone stock, so there's no reason for pictures from that.. Yet..

Here's my truck with it's new accessories/motor.. I know it needs cleaning up, but the new motor blew within 500 miles of being installed.. Don't buy a motor from Checker..

My new steering wheel. The black switch on the left controls the electric fan. And no, the big red one isn't a Giggle Gas switch.. I have a high output power inverter behind the seat from when I worked for a contractor.. The switch controlls that

I know, the electrical is out of control.. It was a daily, and couldn't have it down at all so everything kinda went together quickly. The March Alt bracket wasn't strong enough, so I built my own. It's a simple setup but it really took a load off the engine when it was all installed

4inches is more that enough for my purposes.. I'm working on getting new mud flaps, those were on the truck when I got it, and they pass safety here in Utah..

I know it's ruff, but I'm working on it as I have time, and money.. If I get enough extra cash coming in, I'd like to do a solid axle, and rewire the whole truck, and have the engine bay cleaned up before it recieves a 6.0L upgrade.
