hey guys i went down to the local driveline place here in orlando to see if they could make me a one piece aluminum driveshaft the guy there told me that it would be to long to make it would be 86''. I have a 2000 ext cab i was just looking to pick up a little e.t. with it also a smother ride well if any of you guys know if it can be made even beeing that long then let me know thank's
holy sish!! that's a long ass driveshaft, do you have an extended cab, and didn't those come with two piece shafts??

yes it is a split driveshaft stock but a one piece would have to be 86'' he said it would have to be 4'' in dia the longest he had ever mad was 76'' inch he did not feel safe in makeing one that long i just want to find someone that is
just from everyone's exp. with dennysdriveshaft.com , they seem to be one of the best, and he didn't feel safe building me a LT duty aluminum one , he'd only build me a HD aluminum one, he thought mine was kind of on the borderline of being too long.
he said he'd build mine at 3.5" diameter.
someday i'll get it for weight savings, but until then, i'll stick with my steel shaft.

My HD extended cab has a 1 piece shaft. There is actually a TSB on the 2 piece shafts. If you have a vibration, GM replaced them with a 1 piece. My drive shaft is at least 4" diameter aluminum. Might be bigger. :cool:
that's awesome news, so there you go, get you one of those aluminum stock ones, i'm sure being that big and for a HD it will suffice,

thanks what year hd is it did it come stock with the one piece or did you have gm put it in can you get me a gm part number thanks steve
Came stock on 2001 and newer HD's. Not sure on the part number. A GM dealer should be able to give that to ya. Goodluck.
Here is a pic for reference. The traction bars are 2" dia. Just to give you an idea how big that driveshaft is.
