Installing E-Fans

Im going to be putting e-fans and a 34" radiator into my 03 ECSB.

I just wanted to check before I tore into the install - what should I have on hand? Will I need new radiator hoses from something with the 34" radiator and efans stock?

How about the belt and pullies. Id imagine I will need a shorter belt - are there any proven UD pullies I may be able to install while Im in there?

Any upgraded pullies/pullies I should upgrade that are common failure points?

I will be using Nelson's harness and Flex-a-lite 282's so I think Ive got that end covered.

no you dont need new belts. no you dont need new hoses. you should probably get a 160 tstat, and you will have to get tuned for efans in your PCM.
clamp your belt to one of the pulleys with a c clamp and use a big wrench to get the fan off.

+1 on what Mike said.

ASP pulleys are proven to free up some good HP and help a little with mpgs. The Nelson harness and FAL 282s is a really nice setup.

what about alternator??? especially with underdrive pullies. 105 will struggle at idle especially with lights on or something??

Nope. I got the crank+alt pulleys when I did mine and I actually gained a couple volts at idle vs the stock pulleys. Plus it gave me some extra power and revs nicely.

What is the story on the water pump pulley, is it a press fit on the water pump shaft? Or is it bolted on? When you remove the fan and clutch do you need to put anything back on to hold the pulley on the shaft when changing to e-fans?

I've never worked on a Gen III and was kinda wondering before I took it apart.

its part of the waterpump, pressed into position. Take the fan and clutch off and you're done.
