truck getting some new shoes

It's nothing fancy , but about time i get some new tires for the old beater. I decided on the on Kumho Ecsta STX
I noticed a slit in the inner rear tire while the truck was on the lift yesterday, all four tires are worn , so there was no option to rotate them, lol
When i decide to paint the truck i'll go with some nice rims too, probably some 18x10 torque thrust, with a 29-30 tire or so.

until then, this should allow me to test the driveshaft out at 130mph or so, i'm wondering what the truck will top out at, i'm guessing about 145 or so, i know it will do 130, beat a porsche a while back that works with me. i'm not doing that on bad tires again :doh: i wonder since i set my speedo to 255 in ls1edit, that means i can go 255mph, :nutz:

I am running Kumho tires on my truck, 255/65/16 and I like them. They give excellent traction in dry and wet weather.

I have a set of 99 model corvette wheels that I thought about sticking on my truck but it will take so pretty healthy adapters and I am not sure if I want to use adapters. Does anyone know of someone doing this. They are 18x9.5 rear and 17x8.5 front.

i think adapters are your only hope. i'd stick em on there for a few pics, and for show maybe but i wouldnt roll with em for long. i just dont like the idea of adapters, and those are some nice wheels...i'd love to see some pics.

Run 255 in a truck! Not with street tires. Bill Elliot got scared at 215. Trucks heavy enough but I think you will be flying low. Salt flat here you go.

I agree with you I think they would look good but I don't know how strong they would be, I thought about different axles for the rear and different hubs for the front but that might get expensive and I would still have to use a spacer because of the offset of the wheels so now we are getting back to the adapters, I priced some adapters for it and they are $260

i can't remember the guys sn but someone on tech.com is running vette rims on his truck, he used spacers as well.

i can't wait to get them, these farm tires have to go.

plus i want to test out 100mph with the new tires to see if the vibe problems are there as well.
