Well I'm a newbie here. My name is AJ. Don't have much to say I have a 2001 Chevrolet silverado 1500 4x4 with a 5.3 that i would like to convert to a 6.0 with a
4L80E transmission plan on doing it pretty soon cause my pickup is about to hit 200,000 miles. I do alot of hauling with that 5.3 and 4L60E Tranny so would like to have more horse and torque and still be able to afford the gas to drive to work. I work on a ranch in northeast montana that my family owns. If anyone has any advice on the engine and tranny swap it would be appreciated. Going to do the swap as cheap as possible since i have other bills than my truck.

Welcome! The swap you are talking about isn't that bad, but the conversion to an 80e 4WD will be quite tough. Unless your truck will see tons of track time, you could get away with a 6.0L and a fully built 60e. Would prolly be cheaper and less of a hassle....
