I am going to fix that leak known as niagra falls from the water pump gaskets (im guessing that or from the intake) on my truck. since im going to have it off, does any one know of a good water pump to buy 2000 5.3L? Or is factory chevy my only option? Also should i switch the t-stat to a 180* in california weather or just leave it?
Thanks guy,
Matt

Is that the brand or just the place you bought it?? and it is brand new, not a rebuild?? how is the tranny working?? i have some pics of my trans mount that i modified for mine using the factory frame mounts...but i have to shrink them to upload them.

hyeride, I see you had a bad experience with Fabtech too. THEY SUCK!! Customer support? What is that?
OReilly is an auto part chain. It used to be HI/LO then HI/LO OReilly. Now it's just OReilly around here. If you're on the west coast I am sure PepBoys has close to the same price.

Yeah, fabtech sucks. the bushings make too much noise (i know polyurathane), but ive ridden in other trucks with the same material and it didnt make any noise. Plus my springs make noise too. The customer service does suck. when i went locate new upper ball joints, they told me that 4wheel parts was the only people that carried them, as they were manufactured BY fabtech. BULLSHIT, when i opened the box, it had a TRW part number that i could have bought for 20$ less each.
is the quality on something like the orielly good? i can get a good price on factory parts if that would be better. Im surprised edelbrock doesnt make one yet.....what do you think about the t-stat...should i leave the stock one in for so cal weather and smog, or should i change it to 180*???

today i will be in SA to get all the bugs worked out. and it is a good piece. mine works great.

I get all my F150s parts from O'Reilly, nice quality stuff. Most have great warranty and they're easy to find as they're a big store.
The parts I've replaced on my F150 were all OE Ford stuff/crap from the '80s... starter, alt, PS pump, etc, etc.

OReilly is the Cat's Arse! I buy all I can from them. Their warrantee lasts as long as you own your vehicle on most items and they carry A/C Delco and numerous other factory parts for very reasonable prices. I bought Moog ball joints from them 6 years ago and yesterday they swapped me out for a new set free. I believe their website is www.OReillyauto.com and you can order from them if you don't have a local store. Personally, I would stick with someone local. They carry Murray, which looks identical to factory stock, thermostats in varying temps. I wouldn't go lower than 180 since it will mess with your PCM and could cause problems if you have to do a sniffer test at inspection time.

thanks for the info greg. i will check out that web site. I am not sure that i have one of those stores local around my area. The places that are local around here are auto zone, kragen, and pep boys. Anyhow, thanks again.
