4l60E Service question.
Im about to do a service to the tranny in the silverado and at the same time planning on installing some corvette servos and a transgo HD-2, and a pinless forward accumulator. I was just wondering if I should also get the billet 4th servo the tranny is bone stock so Im not sure? Also is there anything else anyone would recommend installing while im in there? Does the shift kit come with everything I need? I read something on here about getting a different separator plate rather than using the one with the kit? Any input would be awesome.

I believe your refering to the thread about the 4l80e seperator plate that come in the hd-2 kit. It is a 3 piece plate. If the one in your kit is a one piece then use it.
-
Ya your right I actually just looked at that this morning and realized it was the 80E
-
If yous is just a single plate then use it.
As for the pinless accumulators. I had them in my trans and then pulled them out because iof problems. Corvette servo is a good upgrade. What all is done to your truck?
-
The truck is pretty much stock right now except for exhaust. Down the road I plan on doing some type of tranny swap so for now im just going to do the servos and the shift kit, and if you had problems with the pinless accumulator then I wont get those. Thanks for letting me know about that! Whats your thoughts on the billet
4th servo?
-
Go a head and replace the accumulators with some aluminum ones if yours has the cheap plastic ones. I have a 4th bilet as well. Helps prevent 3-4 burn up.

Ya mine has never been touched so I just want to do the little stuff to get the tranny to be a little stronger and smoother. Now another question I have is when I get tuned can I remove all the torque management? Or will that eventually break the tranny? Also is it worth it to throw a good tranny cooler on at the same time? Does the truck even come with one stock?
-
If you're really concerned about the trans failing then just put in the corvette servos and a large external cooler and call it quits. Removing the TM will be hard on the trans due to the engine putting out all it's HP through the shifts. The TM reduces engine HP at shifts to soften the load between clutch engagements. HP breaks parts and if your money is tight don't do too many mods to your engine/trans because things are going to die an earlier death than if you leave it be.

Ya thats what I was thinking. Money is def tight right now until spring time so I for sure dont want to break anything. What about removing some of the torque management? The torque management is so annoying so if I could get rid of some of it that would be sweet
