G80 took a dump on you?
yea, it sucked. But now i have an eaton and 4.10s :jump:
hell yea.. eaton and 4.10s.. good choice... what brand gear you go with?
the guy that did my rear put an auburn and 3.90 instead on eaton and 4.10. BTW the gears are by richmond and allen I'll be callin u some times this week to get a tune :burnout:
I love the Eaton in my F150, it's a killer LSD. I'd be curious to drive an Auburn to see how it grabs differently.
My Auburn works great and really lights 'em up good. Sometimes too good. I don't know how many times in the rain that it threw the ass end out on me when I really didn't want it to.
greg thats funny shit my g80 did the same thing, i've never had any experence with auburn so any input would be greatly app. BTW how are you supposed to break in gears?? :help:
Supposedly most quality set are already broke in/burnished at the manufacturer. The most important thing of all is getting the pinion depth correct and then setting your ring gear backlash. I wouldn't attempt changing gears without a pinion depth indicator. It's worth the money to pay someone to install the gears for you. You will save many headaches. If he's really nice maybe he will let you help/stand over his shoulder while doing the install. It's a good education in everything required to change gears.
