retarded timing/AC
Well can I reduce the timing retard when ac kicks on and off. I found the table for it but there has to be a reason that theres a retard in timing while starting and stoping the ac. The reason it bothers me is that it will drop 100 rpms then go back up to normal idle. So would it be safe to reduce that and make it not dip down so much or is that a safety thing for the ac clutch.

the load on the motor changes a bit when compressor kicks in...i'm sure the rpm drop is due to THAT more then the tune...even old carb'd cars did it.

I cant say its not, but ive log it and it retardeds the timing alot.

I'm sure it's retarding timing do to the extra load made by the compressor coming on, but I really don't see the harm in removing the timing retard from this table however don't see where it would help either. What software are you using and what year truck I don't see that table in my CATS software
