First of all, don't go to that trans builder.
2ndly, Your trans will love the tune and shiftkit, they work great together.
The trans doesn't have to be tuned if a shiftkit is installed, however, if you do tune it, your trans can take advantage of zero TM, lower shift times and all the other benefits that come along with a tune.
+1 to what Allen said. If Im correct doesnt overtuning (which prob happens alot) a trans on a stock level risk damage?
ok thanks thats what i was thinking too. imma go check out another local tranny shop and see if they seem qualified to build it. ill prolly do a servo and shift kit myself first then bring it to him to build it to handle my 6.0 i plan on building.
he did say that too. he told me you want it balanced between firm enough to not slip the clutches too much but not too firm to where its breaking partsQuote:

if he bumps up the shift pressure too much AND you have a shift kit, it could be a problem. But you can still adjust TM, shift points, etc.
and...if you're in the market, check out FLT, i think they may even be running a special in the vendor section. They build these trannys all day long. Trust me, better to spend a lil more now and get guaranteed performance trans, then let some local guy TRY to build one.
