I'm getting my truetrac put in on thursday, and I'm trying to figure out which fluid to use. I've read that sythetic is fine, and I've also read that conventional is better.
Which do you all recommend and what weight should I use. Thanks.

Redline 75/90
There have been some cases where people had problems running synthetic with a TruTrac. Do a search and you'll find some threads about it.
I read on PT.net where a few people were having problems with the synthetic, and some have been running synthetic for years without problems. Does anyone know what eaton recommends?
If you question any of it, I would just run regular 'ol dinosaur 75W/90 stuff. But I have only used Royal Purple when using a TrueTrac. The TrueTrac is different cause it uses straight cut gears--The Eaton/Auburn uses clutches and bands...and if you use synthetic fluids, there is a possibilty of the clutches and bands of not grabbing properly. The Eaton/Auburn is kinda like our trannys--and I only use regular O'Reilly brand ATF.
I'm leaning towards conventional. I've never heard of anyone having a problem with a truetrac because of the synthetic,
other than the occasional one wheel peel, and conventional gear oil seems to fix that for them.
I'm taking it now to drop it off, they will be working on it tomorrow. Luckily the guy that runs the shop I'm taking it to has experience working with the quadrasteer axle. I just hope everything goes smooth, wish me luck.
