Blocks are very, very close in design and weight. As to my knowledge, the water jackets are the same.
Since larger window bays were cut in the block near the crank to prevent further oil turbulence at the LS6's higher RPM operating range, the weight difference in the blocks is minimal.
The LS6 shares its basic block architecture with the GM LS1 engine, but other changes were made to the design such as windows cast into the block between cylinders, improved main web strength and bay to bay breathing. Some 01-02 f-bodies had the LS6 block with the LS1 internals and heads from the factory.
