So far I've had the ds replaced two times and balanced once, changed the tailshaft brass bushing, and has the pinion and ring checked. I still have the vibration around 80mph.
I'm heading over to Joe's trans shop today after work. The only thing left that could have been bent is the pinion yoke. I was going to buy a heavy duty 1350 yoke, from the 1ton trucks, but why do that when joe is going to help me out, again, and replace my stock one with another stock one. Actually, it's the yoke that come off the caprice i got my auburn out of.
I'll let you guys no how the vibe is tonight, i hope it goes away, i want to race again, i haven't race at the track since i busted the original shaft.
If this doesn't fix it, there is one more thing that i can do. There's the yoke and ujoints right, well, when the ujoints sit in the pinion yoke, there is about 1/16" of slack between the cap clip and the inside of the yoke seat. did that make sense, doh.
I'm thinking the yoke mounting area may have been bent when the shaft went  . So, when this new yoke is put on and i still have the slack, this means that the wrong ujoints are installed on the shaft and i'll be bitching that shop out again. They say there's no cap clip this is only 1/16" thicker, but if this doesn't fix it , i'll be having a word with them again.
see ya,

Did you have to shorten or lengthen your shaft? And did you have any problems before the swap?
-
i thought i had to shorten my shaft, hehehe, an inch or so, that's becuase i set the engine back as far as i could and made my own mounts, you could get away without doing that if you positioned it in the same location as the stock one.
i did have a small vibe before the swap, but i really can't remember what speed, that poor little v6 didn't move my big truck as fast as i wanted it to, lol
every since the 4.10's, the vibe has really come alive, and now , it seems, after the breakage, i'm not 100% sure, the vibe is a little worse.
i'm probably gonna end up buying an aluminum one in the end,
