250-400 is the common range depending where you live or what shop does it.
yeah... the smaller stuff like 8.6... 300-400 depending on miles.. its a bit more work when you change every bearing and seal...
i got mine changed for 75 bucks at a local shop haha...alot cheaper than i thought
400ish for labor on just gears/posi install.... 700ish for full rebuild
i just got my local shop to put in my truetrac for 120 bucks...other shop back home wanted 400
When i was lookin around, i was told that it was 3-4 labor hours. Basing that on shop rates og 65-90 per hour. If you get a outrageous quote, they are probably trying to get you out of there because they are unsure.
I stopped at 4 shops, only 1 was willing to consider doing it. WTF is with PA? lol
dang!! all of that is expensive!!
my bro just got his rear end built the locker was rebuilt and his 4.11 put in and all put back together for 500!
Castilleja Performance here in Houston
$350 in the car. $300 out of car or for a 9" or 55 chevy. Here in CT.
You might have a hard time getting a shop to put in parts you didn't buy from them. After all you can't bring your own steak to a steak house and have them cook it for you.
