ok so im gunna start building a 383 stroker and im using a kit from white performance eby Item number: 330370159384 and running a 488/510 edelbrock performer rpm cam double hump heads and a performer intake and 600 carb how much hp/tq do you think i will be pushing? and what sze stal should i buy? thanks
you might want to try a different forum. most of these guys are running ls1/5.3/6.0 motors. An old school stroker motor with a carb/edelbrock intake is a whole different world then a genIII fuel injected motor.
Have you looked into the "matched" Edelbrock kit? 415 HP on a 350, prob get you close to 500 on the 383.

You can run a carb on a Gen III motor. And you can also get a 383 from an LS1.Quote:

Yup - double hump heads are 45-year-old old school. They will also restrict your ability to make HP. IIRC, they have 165cc intake runners. Lose them and get a set of 185-200cc heads from current technology. They're worth about an additional 45-50 HP.
Double humps are too small for a 383. marginal on a 350 even. Not to sound like a dick but the combo seems awful mismatched
how heavy is the truck? what size tire? What gears? what transmission? 2 or 4 wheel drive?
Oh, and how much money do you have to spend?
