I had a tune done at Nelson about a year ago on my 08, 5.3. I want to get some warranty work done, and I am having problems trying to put my spare ecm and tcm in. I'm not sure if it's me not doing the security relearn right or if there is a problem. Is there another way to do the security relearn, by going to a shop or something? I'm in Austin, what are my options? Any help would be appreciated.
Go to the NelsonPerformance.com website and there is a security relearn procedure on there, if I remember correctly. Not sure if its the same for the GMT900s though.
One way to reset it is to close the door, lock it with the remote, set for 30 secs, unlock with the remote, insert key and start truck. See if the light goes out after that.
When you say spare ecm/tcm are you saying they are your factory originals, unmolested?
If you have the ones that came out non of this is needed.
The originals that came in the truck got tuned, I have another set that Nelson flashed that were supposed to take it back to factory. I can't get the ones that were flashed to work.
Though they have been flashed they still need the security relearn and CKP relearn done to them in your truck.
