235/60 is pretty narrow. 325/60 maybe?
I'm looking for the best diameter of tire&wheel for the best 1/4 mile time. I put a single pass yesterday with the 24x10 on 315-35-24 and did a 12.5 sec but I ended like 45xx rpm wich is not my torque sweet point. I will like to pass traps at 5500 rpm. I have a 3.73 and I dont disconect 4x4. My tire wheel combo net 32.5 diameter, and are way too heavy one pice rim. I'm on low boost now, 8 psi, waitting for my fuel system so I can raise boost. Meanwhile, I want to hit low 12 with just a tirewheel swap. Possible? Also I can strip the interioi for some weigth savings.
I would imagine killing 4wd after 2nd gear would put you closer to 12's by itself. That's a lot of extra mass to turn the entire 1/4...there's a reason drag cars are 2wd.
4hi is only rated at like 65mph, so you are putting A LOT of stress on it, but if that's what you want to run, you will need to have the speed you trap at, then use a online calculator of rear gear/trans gear/tire size/etc to figure it out. I'm guessing you need to lose about 1-1.5 inches on your diameter to gain a 1000 rpm trap.
probably... don't go to track...don't have 4wd on this truck...could care a less
Caesy, when you say slick, by them self could shave .5 imo
What size the slicks?
The 12.59 @ 8 psi might sound good, but the truck feels at mid pull at the end.
My target is with this street set up low 12, 12.2 will be nice, but I just upgraded my brakes, and they say nothing under 20" rims, so now I have less options.
Some said 27" diameter was the best
With a 4L60e 3.73 and 30.5" (285/60/17) tire diameter I trap ~4900rpm in 3rd. To really eek out a bit better time I should be running a slightly smaller diameter but would have to make them 4 DR's to get any traction at launch ;)
