Newb in Yuma, Az

Hi all. I live in Yuma, Az. I got an 88 Suburban 1/2 ton. 90k, 350 TBI,700R4, all most all original. I am contemplating putting in an LQ9 with a built 700R4. Just trying to gather info. Love my truck except for the ol TBI 350.. Well here is what it looks like at the moment. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
