Prolonging life of 4l60?

Looking into a few changes on my truck MAYBE even before SAR, Aside from swapping from a dry shot to a wet shot on the N2O in hopes of getting my AFR a bit undercontrol I am looking into buying a LQ9 around the end of December. It wont be anything special Basically just taking my cam and bolt-ons etc and adding it to the LQ9 during the swap. Hopefully will be a decent 50hp gain and a good bit more in the torque area * If those aspirations are a bit much someone inform me* So here is the question. Under the power of a 6.0 I dont figure my built 60e will hold together for long. But Im needing it to hold together long enough to get a built 80e (I figure it needs to last me about 4 months to be ready to swap the trans) So would a TCI deep pan and a good trans cooler be able to prolong the life long enough to make the swap AND when I am racing investing in a window switch for the n2o to keep it from spraying through shifts?

to prolong the life of any 4l60e here is a guide.

1. remove 4l60e
2. place on shelf
3. install 4l80e
4. now 4l60e will last forever

That will work for sure.

I know Imma need to lightfoot it, But Id like to be able to give it enough to see how healthy the 6l will be. Just wondering if those few parts would help it survive any longer.

if your 4l60e is built right then you shouldnt have any issues with it, i been running a 4l60e for a few years now, built by performabuilt. and A FLT IN MY ECSB, niether have given me issues or problems, plus i am close to putting down 500 rwhp!!! plus i race just about every weekend and drive it daily ;)

p.s. the only issue i ever had with a 4l60e was letting local tranny shops build them :(

Thanks skeet. Mine was build by a "respected" tranny guy a few cities over. Its handled everything I have thrown at it. Hoping a few lil upgrades will keep it from popping for a lil while till I get a 80e that can handle alot more for later down the line
