Best Exhaust?

I posted this in another thread but didn't get any answers there, so I thought that I would create a different thread for my question.

A lot of you say "unless you plan on serious mods then don't go with an x-pipe." What would you consider serious modding? I don't plan on SC, TC or N2O on this truck but I do plan on putting a mild cam and LT headers on it. Would that be worth going true duals or would a single in/out be sufficient? What about a single in/dual out? Would there be any benefits of going with a single in/out over a single in/dual out? I really want to put an exhaust on my truck but don't want an exhaust that will rob me off power though. Thanks!

That doesn't seem like enough for 3" true duals, but if you did 2.5" true duals with an x-pipe, you'd be jammin'.

I say do a single 3" into a Hooker Header Aero Chamber muffler, and then dual out of it. It will give you a great sound, and it has the best flow of all those mufflers. However, if you do not want the Hooker, then go with the classic single in /dual out Flowmaster 40 series. Great sound, but doesn't flow as well as hooker.
Both of these will be coming off a y-pipe. True duals isn't necessary to get a performance increase. The above setup will work just fine, and run ya about $250. All you have to decide is if you want the pipes to exit out the rear, or out the corners at a 45 degree angle. I prefer the corners so you can hear the exhaust better, but you may like the look better of the straight out the back pipes.

Hey Leo,

I have the single 3" into a Flow 40 with dual 2.5" outs, you'll see it when I'll be in Houston the 13th/14th. I've also thought of a true dual setup, just haven't put it as a priority as I already have a better-than-stock exhaust. At least you'll see it and form your own opinion.

Dual out is for looks... I prefer dual out myself.

A full 3" exhaust Y-pipe into a 3" collector to a 3" muff would flow more than enough. For more midrange grunt... 2.5" piping to a 3" collector would be better yet.

Ya don't really need true duals, but you may want them for bragging rights and such lol

What size is the factory y-pipe and collector? Where can I get a custom y-pipe, 2.5" pipe into a 3" collector?

What about the setup in my Sig? How does that sound?

I&#39;d be afraid that I would loose too much low end with that set up.

...or i could always "Y" it into one bullet.

I went threw a couple diffrent set ups..the one I have now is the best for me and sounds great, they kinda converted my y pipe in to an x pipe and ran dual straight pipe all the way back, no mufflers, I also have shortie headers, I love the sound it doesent get too crazy but it souns mean&#33;

y pipe is brown, changed to an x works great takes out a lot of the popping sound
