v8 Vega build
so my brother just got a v8 vega with a 4/71 weiand blower on it ,12 bolt tubbed rear,nos ,turbo 350.etc.Heres what we would like to do .he doesnt like the motor.
1.Take the motor out and install a donor 6.0 out of a z/71 suburban.
2.If possible install 6.0 and keep the blower,IDK if its possible or not but would be cool.if not do a carrburated setup on the 6.0. if possible ,if not victor with tb.I would like to know wich can happen and whats needed to do so.
3. wanna keep the th350 but need to know what i need for install to ls motor ,flexplate torque etc.
4.do i need harnesses with these setups?PCM ?we have the whole suburban. the tow company aquired it.or just have nelson or someone build a harness?if no obviously is easier,depends on the setup chosen.
5. does anyone make the mounts needed,tranny ,motor?
6.what about exhaust setups?can we get headers for it to work?or manifolds with duals will work?
so first i need to find out wich combo will work and the steps ness. to make em happen,then make the other decisions.any help will be appreciated.maybe someone knows someone who already has done this .that would help.thanks guys.

Edelbrock has a carb conversion kit with harness, intake, cam and carb all meant to be run together.

can i go to theyre site and punch in what?Of course you would know red.lol.and what about some of the other options?will a small block chevy blower bolt on somehow to a ls motor ?We would kinda like to find a way to make that happen.if not then im definately interested,in the edelbrock option.

Tell me a lot more about the Vega as I lost one a few years ago that had the same stuff....almost....it had a GMC V6-71 blower (bet Greg or Dale knows about a V6-71 :LOL:). Blown 350 with N20, back half, wing, 'chute, 31/18.50's, custom dash, 14 pt cage, all lights and safety stuff, was '95 Vette blue the last time I saw it....

gass,this ones yellow,back halfed,n2o,stock dash ,funny tho speedo goes to 130/40 and tach goes to 10k.31/1850s,cage,headers with supertraps on em,b&m starshifter.im sure its not yours but very similar.ill try to post pics.Its kinda just had parts thrown at it.alittle cobby.thats why we want to redo alot of stuff.im gonna try to get some pics up for the build.howd u lose yours?

okay guys ,red made s ome good suggestions,i like these setups,thanks .What about some of the other points ive brough up like the blower setup,can it some how go on the ls motor from a small block?flexplate ,trans in stall ?exhaust,headers for ls in a vega?thanks for any help.

Blower Drive Service aka BDS makes a LSx truck series blower setup. If you plan on going that route then be sure to have the crank dowel/keyway cut before you put the engine into the car. Its a nice setup for sure. The LSx engines don't have a keyway on the pulley so you have to get one cut or use a pin hole drilled into the crank snout to prevent it from spinning on the shaft like SCIV had such a big issue with, it ruined his crank when the pulley spun on the snout.

Thanks red ,but what im trying to find out is if theyres any way of using the weiand blower thats on the small block setup onto the ls motor or is it a copletely differrent setup.Is it possible to use ?have it shaved to proper angle or adapters?And what about mountsmotor and tranny?headers are a big one also.thanks
