Fan Motor.

Sometimes my fan motor will become very noisy. it pushes air through the defroster vent on the dash without being set there on the control. But then it will get quiet and work ok. The motor doesnt squeel but sounds like its spinning faster than it should. Ne ideas?

If the modes are all gayed out it might need a mode actuator (side of case above gas pedal). Fan speed and output issues are different. When was the last time you checked/replaced the cabin filters?

I was suspecting the cabin air filter but didnt know where it was on our trucks.

Remove the hush panel under the RH side of the dash (3-4 7mm screws). Next to the blower motor there is a "door" about an inch wide and 6-8" deep retained by one gold colored 5.5mm screw in the front and a tab in the rear. Take the door (cover?) off and you'll see an opening one of the two filter panels drops out of....pull it out then pull the other panel rearward then down and out.

This is quite a coincidence. As you know my friend is having a problem on his vehicle which is quite similar to warlock according how my friend desribe his problem. Since we're quite kinda newbies, we're kinda lost what's causing this on my friend's vehicle.

But having read this post, it seems what GasGuzzler mentioned about the checking on the acc cabin air filter made warlock's problem fixed so I'm gonna let my friend try these instructions you mentioned and hopefully it would also fix the problem of my friend's vehicle. Anyway, thanks for sharing it.
